• Choosing Your Wood:

Personal, I try to keep my wood source as local as I can get. But I am lucky to have few near me.

But I would definitely recommend going and looking at the wood you are going to be working with.

    Because:

    • You can see all the knots and cracks in the wood.
    • Get a feel of what you can use the wood for, you may get an ideas from just looking at a piece of wood.
    • Also, you can be sure that you are getting what you are paying got. Rather risking buying wood, your not 100% sure is right for pyrography, a project or to store.
  • The correct Equipment:

Weather your an amateur or full Time Artist, you will need to know a thing or two about the equipment you will need.

    You may need:

    • Solid or Wire nip Pen
    • Sandpaper
    • Blowtorch
    • Wood protector
    • wood files/ engraver
    • Fire extinguisher
  • The Right Project For You?:

There is no advise one can give to tell you what you are capable of. But if you were looking for advise on projects I have done, weather you need a certain wood for certain images or ideas.
